This is a reply I had from RexitUP following a similar query

"find  internet settings in  IE9, and go to advanced settings, reset internet explorer to standard settings, restart IE9 and a window will pop up, select standard security settings. then try to install the Bing bar again from the web site"

I did manage to get the Bing bar but not sure exactly how but hopefully the above will help you.

Re: HP Bing Bar

I really have enjoyed having HP Smart Printing available for the past few years. However, I do not want nor will I install the "Bing Bar" on my computer.

The people in marketing at HP have shown poor judgment in forcing customers to use Bing when some of us prefer other search solutions.

When you come to your senses and start allowing loyal HP customers to use Smart Printing without being forced to use Bing, maybe I'll consider staying with HP.

Same thing goes for not allowing Smart Printing to be used with anything but Internet Explorer. I only use IE when I have to. Since many other people prefer other browsers to IE (I use Firefox because of much better functionality), HP is cutting itself out of a lot of potential customers.

I currently own 6 HP printers/all-in-ones in this office. As it comes time to replace each one, I intend to look elsewhere. While HP has been #1 for so many years, there are now many other brands out there that cost less, print better and cost less to use.

Hope others with follow my example, since HP obviously doesn't care about their customers or customer loyalty.

Re: HP Bing Bar

To some extent I believe Hp have listened to their users. I too was angry at having to install the Bing bar to use smart printing but with IE9, that is no longer required. I uninstalled Bing and the smart print icon is in my command line and works ok.

Thanks for the info Bluebutterfly.....I have IE 9 installed, but didn't even try to install the package and then remove Bing. I'll give it a go later this evening. Your help is appreciated!
