My HP Photosmart printer says it's disconnected

My HP Photosmart printer says it's disconnect but all the connections are secure I am running Windows7 and I have been using the wireless functionality for over a year without issues?

I rebooted my laptop, checked the wireless connections, ran the install disk again without any luck

What model printer are you using and do you know if your Windows 7 is 32 bit or 64 bit?

I have the HP Photosmart Premium C309a, I have Win7 64 bit installed on my laptop.

The issue appears to be with the wireless radio, the latest wirless network test report indicates it is no longer functioning, even thoug it says it is on.

I called HP for support and instead of them helping, I was told there are none issues with this and it would be best to upgrade...they then proceeded to try to sell me another printer, needless to say, after using HP printers for over 15 years I was not hapy and this will be my last.

Hello datachick,

The wireless radio could be bad in the printer. We can try resetting everything back to factory default settings to see if the problem resolves itself.

Disconnect the power cable from the printer

Connect it back after 5 mins

Switch on the printer

Setup > Tools > Restore Factory Defaults

Setup > wireless > Restore network defaults.

Turn off the printer and turn it on.

This should resolve the issue.

Unfortunately, this did not resolve my issue. I am still unable to get the wireless radio to function properly

Unfortunately I think we can safely assume that this is a hardware failure. It would seem that the options at this point are limited

1. Have the product serviced by HP or

2. You can attempt repair yourself depending on your knowledge of the workings.

Here is a forum thread where other users have experienced the same issue and have discussed thse same two options in detail.
