Officejet Pro 8500A print spool quits

The printer was working fine. Then it was left on, but not used for a few days while the computer was used regularly. After a few days, I tried to print a page and nothing happened. I tried a few more times and discovered that all of the attempts were in the print que and that the print spool was not working. I shut off the printer and turned it back on and waited for the long startup calibration/cleaning cycle to complete, then the page printed. How do I reactivate the print spool without having to wait for the several minute startup sequence?

uninstall the drivers and clear the registry entries, and then you install the printer drivers
and restart the system and check this problem will be solved. -giri
