Photosmart C5280 Out of Paper-Load glossy side down

I am trying to print 5x7 photos on Kodak Ultra Premium Photo Paper, but the HP Photosmart C5280 All-in-One printer continues to display an "Out of Paper - Load glossy side of photo paper face down in Photo Tray. I have check that I have the photo paper installed glossy side down many times and reattempted printing many times with the same result.

Is there any way to bypass this message and manually print?

I'm getting the same error message with the C6280.  It's driving me crazy as I can't fix it.

I have just encountered the same problem & error with C5280 and using Kodak Premium paper. Could it be that the printer does not like the Kodak paper? I has worked with other brands of glossy paper. Does anyone know?

I'm having the same problem, unable to print Kodak photo 4x6 on the C5280.  Very frustrating.

Same. We've had no problems for the last 3+ years, but now we can not get out of this error loop.

Same problem here. Started when I bought HP paper with the bar codes on the back. Strangely, it worked fine when I used the generic Office Depot paper. I'm trying to print on an HP C7250 All-In-One.

Does HP ever answer these posts?

OK, just tried it again. It sucked up & passed through (all at once) 11 sheets of plain 8 1/2 x 11 paper for some reason. I then left the plain paper out of the tray, pressed 'OK' to the "Load Glossy Side Down..." message, and it printed the photo.

Well... I got it !
the point is not actually the fact of the glossy side, but the fact that the printer is "out of paper", because it is indeed actually not able to pick up the paper. You do have for sure a paper with a curvature, that is the paper is folded in a way that the printer cannot grasp... You can just manually fold the paper in the other way around, and it will work !
