Not that it wasn't already slow, especially sinced updates to Java and Flash Player, but my IE8 worked even slower after the recent update to version 1.1.5.0. I am posting from a different computer; but the one with the problem runs Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Edition. The printer is the wireless Officejet Pro 8500. Months ago, I had to roll back from IE9 because I was getting script errors. Rolling back to an older printer driver, I would get text without photos.

I made some changes to my IE8, the first of which was using the reset buttion in the Advanced tab of Internet Options. Then I was able to update Shockwave Player. Since then, however, my entire system froze to where I had to shut down. Now, I have unistalled both Bing Bar and Smart Print to troubleshoot my browsing ability.

Now that I have done some browsing without Bing Bar, I still believe that something is slowing down my system, apparent when a site links to a PDF document. Prior to uninstalling Bing Bar, Smart Print would not open even though I fully activated it.

After using System File Checker, registry fixes and malware removal tools, I had my system restored to where it worked just fine. Just now, after reinstalling both HP Bing Bar and Smart Print, I had to uninstall them since, even when hid and disabled, they still slowed down my IE8 256-bit version, in which I used those addons on this 64-bit Windows 7 OS.
