Web Printing and IE9

I am using the new IE9 and its true - it has a very minimalistic view - too minimalistic.  How can I get the "Web Printing" button back?  I have enabled every legacy view I can find and I still don't have the button, even though in "manage add-ons" it shows that HP Smart Web Printing is enabled.

Re: Web Printing and IE9

I have just installed IE9 too.  right click at the top of the window and make sure the command bar is enabled.  The button is found there.

However, when you click the button it informs you that Web printing does not work for ie9 and takes you to a page on the hp website that doesn't exist.

As ie9 is still beta I don't think hp have updated their tool yet.  (Still waiting for them to support other browsers too!!)

Re: Web Printing and IE9

Tim (Ravenstar) got it right. It's Beta, and as such, not supported by HP yet. Don't expect it to work until IE9 is officially released.

While I am an HP employee, I am not a expert on all our products. If I offer advice, I'm not speaking for HP on how to solve an issue, but I'll do my personal best to help you.

Re: Web Printing and IE9

Hi,

Now that IE9 is officially released, when can we expect the update to Smart Web Printing from HP?

I agree, how long is it going to take HP to come out with an update for IE9?

Re: Web Printing and IE9

How do we contact someone from HP to get them to provide an update?  I have grown to like this little add-on and IE9 has been official now for at least a month.  Whe you want to buy something someone pops up and wants to have a conversation with you.  How about someone letting everyone know when an update is available.

Re: Web Printing and IE9

IE9 is not compatible with HP Web Smart Print...not yet.

HP will have to create an update, or a patch, that will allow IE9 to run the smart print.

Or, Windows Update will have to supply that update.  Im not really sure which one will have to do the encoding.

In any case, until one of them creates the software update that allows smart print to work in the new IE9 browser, there isnt anything to be done.

Not unless one of you tech geeks can write up some kind of registry workaround.  Even then, I wouldn't mess with that.

It took HP, or Microsoft WU only a few months to create the update for IE8 for the HP Smart Print add on/accelerator to work.

Patience is the name of the game here, guys and gals.  It will get done, eventually
