Re: ink levels on officejet K5400 printer with windows 7

Brilliant technique and I followed it exactly for my "HP Photosmart C7200 series" only to get the message 'Failed to locate toolbox ini file.'  Perhaps something is missing from my HP download?

Hello Champansky,

There should be an ini file for the toolbox in C:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\data\Toolbox. However, I would suggest downloading and installing the drivers again, you can find them here:

Needless to say the shortcut fix doesn't work for WindowsXP.  Is there a workaround that will help me?

Re: ink levels on officejet K5400 printer with windows 7

I installed the Officejet Pro K5400 Toolbox  and fllowed your instructions.

I set the Target: "C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\Digital Imaging\bin\hpqtbx01.exe" "HP Officejet Pro K550 series"

When I try to run it I get the following error message.

"Failed to locate the toolbox ini file.

What shoul I do next?

Thanks.

Hello

I noticed your advice to one of the above questions. Thought you might be able to help me too. When I try to clean my ink cartridges going thru 'properties' I no longer see the 'service printer' option-Used to be there. For a previous questioner,  you said there was a way to activate the 'cleaning of the printheads' using the buttons on the front panel. My model is a HP Deskjet 6940. Help. I need to use a lot of ink to prepare for the upcoming basketball tourney. If needed my e-mail is [Personal Information Removed]

Re: ink levels on officejet K5400 printer with windows 7

For whatever reason, IE must be your default Web Browser.  When you do that Printer Services should show up again. So if you're using Chrome or Firefox, make IE default for the duration of the cleaning
