laserjet 1020 does not print / print spooler shuts down.

Print spooler shuts down after installing lj1020_1022-HB-pnp-win64-en and restoreing to previous windows 7 restore point.

I have deleted the printer several times.

Running x64 windows 7.  This is a new problem after several months of running consistenly.

Re: laserjet 1020 does not print / print spooler shuts down.

I have the same problem but only with printing documents from secure sites (online brokerage)  like statements and Tax Documents.  The problem exists whether I print directly from the website, or download the document and try to print the file.  I suspect the issue is with the driver for the 1020 because I can print the same files on my HP PhotoSmart Plus with no problems.  I too am running Windows 7 64 bit edition.  The bad print job stops the Spooler.  You can Restart the Spooler (it appears), but the minute you try to print anything, the Spooler shuts down again.  Rebooting does not fix the problem.  The only solution is a System Restore.

After the 1020 shuts down the spooler, even my PhotoSmart cannot print, but it at least produces error msgs to the

effect that "No pages have been selected for printing".  Trying to print from the 1020 - absolutely nothing happens - no printer dialog, no error message - just nothing.

Re: laserjet 1020 does not print / print spooler shuts down.

As far as I understood you noticed a kind of spooler issue happened on win 64 bit OS systems, I will kindly suggest to download the "microsoft fix it 50126" application to your pc to install your pc.

Also you can perform following workaround at below

1. Click Start.
2. Select Run
3. Type "services.msc" and click OK.
4. Scroll down until you find "Printer Spooler".
5. Right click it and select Start.
