I am using HP Photo creations on WIndows Vista.
I have had a whole load of jpg files appear in picture folders with the file name _Picon.rlf_x.xxx-xx.jpg (where the x is a number)
They are very small in size - some 7kb others no more than 20kb., suggetsing they are thumbnails
Are these thumbnails created by the Photo creations program?
Should the program hide them / clear them down automatically?
If yes, is something causing them to be there unneccesarily? eg programme crash / cirus protection (Kaspersky)
Can they be deleted?
All help greatly appreciated
Ruudi

Hi Ruudi.
Thanks for asking. Yes, those are preview images generated by HP Photo Creations to support your project. Everything in that folder may be used by the project, so it's best not to change anything. If you want to work on the project on another computer, or back up your project, you should copy the entire folder.
Hope this helps. Thank you for using HP Photo Creations,

I installed HP Photo Creations on my computer using Windows 7. I hate that it saves every little picture and computer jargon associated with literally everything I save to my pictures, documents, videos, you name it. Is there any way to prevent this from happening? For instance, I made a photo using another program and there are a ton of little things saved with it. I can't just save the picture I created, HP creates a whole file of unusable stuff associated with the one picture I saved. How do I stop HP from creating the files, and only save the document or image? It's really frustrating and I find myself deleting those unnecessary files constantly. Thank you.

Hi LD.
HP Photo Creations creates those thumbnail previews when you save a project in HP Photo Creations itself. Deleting them could prevent the project from re-opening correctly.
But HPPC wouldn't create the support files on behalf of another program. Perhaps you used the same photos in both? Our customer support team can help. Please contact them at hpphotocreations@hp.com.
Thank you,
