[Drivers] Need Officeject J 4580 Windows 7 RC Drivers.

Dear HP,

I require Windows 7 drivers for a newly purchased HP Officejet J 4850 All-in-One printer. If they are not available (I checked Support & Drivers, but you never know), then are there third-party drivers available? If not, then at what is the ETA of their release?

Same for the scan drivers for F4240.  Although printer drivers for Vista 64 work I had to uninstall all other HP drivers to get it to at least print to my old XP.

I was told by several different HP employees that "the new drivers are being worked on" ;-} and I received word that W7 driver for 990c was out, but it's not showing up when I look for it.

The Windows 7 drivers for most, if not all printers will be available on, or a few weeks before October 22nd, which is the official release date of the production version of Windows 7. Until then, you can try installing the VIsta drivers for your printer on Windows 7 under Compatibility mode. Please search the Windows 7 Beta forums for instructions on how to do it. It's been posted MANY times, so you should be able to find it.

I have tried 4 times to install in compatibility mode, but finally gave up.  I'll try again after a week or so due to scheduling problems, but it hasn't worked so far!  Aren't there any beta versions I can try?

Nope. HP doesnt release beta drivers or software for any of its products. You'll just have to wait till October 22nd when the official Windows 7 drivers should be released to the public.

Ok I installed the software and driver from the HP site using Windows vista 64 bit for windows 7 RTM MSDN x64. I did the compatibility mode [windows vista SP2] and everything installed correctly on my windows 7 RTM. After it is done and I wait for few min I restart my pc and then the HP icon appeared on the taskbar and when I double click on hp solution icon it showed up as "NO HP PRINTER FOUND, THE SOLUTION WILL NOW CLOSE" I keep doing this over and over still nothing. But at least printing from Windows 7 RTM worked but the scan doesn't work at all [it work if I scan from adobe photoshop cs4]. I hope HP released the driver pretty soon for Windows 7.
