Hi.
I have recently performed a clean install of Windows7 Ultimate (x64) on my Elitebook 6930p.
I downloaded the various 64bit drivers using the HP SoftPaq Download Manager.
All is running well on the laptop apart from a problem with the video card side of things.
My 6930p is running the Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express video driver.
When I use an Aero theme, the desktop images, icons...the screen in general becomes corrupt, fuzzy and unreadable as you will see from the attached screen shots.
(Well, I tried attaching a couple of screenshots just now but I seem to be having problems in doing so I will retry later on).

Clicking on the corrupt icons, or corrupted sections within a window clears the problem and the text is readable again.
The problem shows on the internal LCD and also on the external TFT I am using in conjunction with my HP docking station.
If I disable the Aero theme and use the Windows Classic theme, it all works without any corruption.
Also, using the Windows7 Standard VGA driver works ok but the look and feel of the Standard VGA driver is not really an option at the moment.
The problem only seems to arise when using the Aero side of Windows 7 which I would like to use if possible.
According to the Download Manager, I have the correct, latest driver.
Any ideas on what could be causing this problem?![]()

I am also having this same problem with my HP6930p. al the images and background become distorted frequently. It occurs when I use Windows Aero and 32bit color depth. If I change the color depth to 16bit which disables Aero, this problem goes away. I am also using an external monitor when this happens. It doesnt seem to happen as much if I dont use the external monitor.
Has there been any solution to this problem?
Thanks,
Rob

I'm having the exact same problem - I also have an Intel video card. Does any one have a solution for this?
Thanks a lot

Hoping to hear about a resolution to this as well. I have an Elitebook 2730p with the same issue and I really don't want to disable Aero but the problem happens so frequently I might have to.

Elitebook 2730p with same issue on Win 7 Pro x64. Totally fresh, new install (not upgrade). All latest HP drivers. HP Support has been NO help and even suggested I return unit for repair.

I have been using the folowing driver I downloaded from Intel and manually installed, everything has been working fine since.
Driver Provider: Intel Corporation
Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family
Date: 12/14/2009
Version. 8.15.10.2021

Hi
Thanks for that.
I did actually download the latest Intel driver but it has made no difference.
I have just formatted and installed Enterprise x32 using all default drivers and that appeared to be fine.
Problem lies with x64 as far as I can tell.
I am just installing Pro x64 to see if this works but I am guesing it will be the same.

Just tested Windows 7 Pro x64 and using all default drivers and the display is fine.
Formated and reinstalled x64 Enterprise and display blurry.
So it looks like the problem lies just with Enterprise and Ultimate editions according to my brief testing.
