The Vista 64 bit driver solution works - almost- fine by me. Only problem is: when using the 'greyscale' setting in the color tab (I try to use as less color toner as possible) I'm getting a diapositive printed page (black page with white letters). Anybody encountered the same problem?

Although the Vista drivers may work, they are not adequate or reliable.
My experience with the Vista drivers was that duplex printing did not work. When I tried to print on both side it was a problem. I had other problems as well but no longer recall what they were.
Just a few days ago a friend of mine informed me that he too was unable to find Win 7 drivers for his HP color laser jet (not 3600).

I am not sure what is going on but I started yesterday and kept digging and today the HP Laserjet 3600 is working flawlessly on WINDOWS 7. I think the last suggested 64 bit driver pack is what worked but I wouldn't swear to it. DO NOT GIVE UP!

Greetings all ...
I am trying to use a network-attached HP3600 in a mixed environment of XP, Vista, Win7, (and soon) Win8 machines.
I located this thread and one other both bemoaning HP's lack of full support for this printer ...
I was wondering if there any new/good news here .... ???
Thanks for any help!

I have Windows 8 and just downloaded the full Vista 64 bit printer install (48.8 Meg) and it installed without an issue. Both color and grayscale tested well. When I talked with HP directly yesterday, this was not given to me as an option. Further research and reading this blog proved to be successful!
