Knowing how temperamental Vista on HP was just to upgrade to SP1, what is on offer for those of us that are not eligible for a Win7 upgrade?  I bought my pc Xmas 2008 and want to upgrade to Win7 in Oct.  Will having an HP computer mean that I have to do a whole load of special things to make sure it all stays stable, or will HP be offering a paid upgrade just for HP computers for the rest of us to do it without teething????

You should have no problems purchasing a copy of Windows 7 and doing the upgrade yourself. If your run into trouble I am sure a local computer repair shop would be able to straighten it out for you.
