I recently installed Windows 7 and I cant find the printer driver for HP Laserjet P1505. I tried the driver for Vista 64 bits but W7 during installation, my printer is not recognized.
Under control panel devices, I can see that W7 recognize my printer but no drivers are installed.

Hi CaptainQ, I have the same issue, sorry for my English but I will try to explain how to resolve it.
First I downloaded the driver for Windows Vista ( http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategor
When I install it the software drivers will be installed in the next location C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\LaserJet P1000_P1500 Drivers
Ok, now go to Control Panel ->Hardware and Sound -> Add a printer
Next Local Printer , in use an existing port chose USB001 next, now in Install a printer driver select HAVE Disk and browse to C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\LaserJet P1000_P1500 Drivers. select the file hpljp1005.inf (is the ones) Open , Ok, next and LISTO EL POLLO PELADA LA GALLINA !!
Test it and let me know if works ok [email removed for privacy].
Regards and good luck.
Gaston.

Hi, I have the same problem and went to download the driver as suggested above...but the PnP driver appears to have been removed from the HP web site. Click the hyperlink at http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docnam
Does anyone know of an alternative location of this file, or another driver that works? My shiny new laser printer is just a grey plastic paperweight...
Also, can anyone comment on why the 'full feature' driver set doesn't work on Win7?
Many thanks, Anthony

Update: I restarted Windows, and this time the full driver set successfully installed.
However, the link to the PnP driver on HP.com is still dead - although at least I don't need it now.
Problem solved.

Perhaps what I did for my P1006 will work for you. Using the normal method I could not get the driver to work.
I used the Device Mgr to install the driver manually from the install cd. The key word here is "MANUAL".
Good luck.

Dear Friend, you don't have to down load any type of software.
follow this instraction at first GO TO Printer folder and Click on Add printer-select USB001 after that
have disk-Browse HP CD and find HPLJP1005.inf file
then follow the instraction you get your HP printer work.
Have nice Day
