I do not beleive it is as simple as that.
My other two computers both run XP SP3 with no problem. XP does not contain this module that is PART of this problem.
No one has been able to isolate the circumstance(s) which trigger this problem. To further complicate the issue there are a variety of symptoms which occur in isolation or in combination. There are theories that it is a timing issue, an overheating issue, a voltage issue, a frame rate issue; that it only occurred after a particular hotfix from MS was applied. The list of occurences with attendent symptoms and theories as to the cause goes onand on. (For examples just google the module.)
I do not think their is sufficient evidence to exonerate any of the parties involved.
It would be nice to think that the suppliers were going to put together a team to track this down, but I suspect thats in an ideal world.

WMikeD

If a person is having computer problems, they shouldn't assume that the operating system is at fault.
My (December 2008) HP desktop computer came with Vista SP1-preinstalled, and I have had zero problems with the operating system. (I installed SP2, and that works fine too.) I would never, ever, go back to Windows XP.
I appreciate your outrage over a computer that doesn't work right, though. Been there.
