Re: UPGRADE VISTA TO WINDOWS 7

Vista will not get replaced by Windows 7. You will have to purchase the upgrade to windows 7. Personally, I would keep the laptop running on vista until windows 7 has been out for at least a year. From my own experience new releases of windows may have problems that will usually be fixed with the first service pack.

Re: UPGRADE VISTA TO WINDOWS 7

Honestly, Windows 7 the best thing to happen to Vista.

I even upgraded my XP box to Windows7 and haven't gone back.  I made an unstable Compap vista laptop stable again with Win7.

The new taskbar system takes awhile to get used to, but holy hell, is Windows7 stable.  I've been running the RC on all the computers in the house since it came out in what, June/July?

I'm trying to put Windows7 on a new HP computer I bought because Vista is so screwed up after only 4 days of ownership.  But I'm worried I may lose good preinstalled programs.

Re: UPGRADE VISTA TO WINDOWS 7

If you bought it new, HP is giving Windows 7 to those who got new PC going back aabout a year for free. It is suppose to be coming out in October of 2009. That is going to be free to those who bought a HP computer in about the last year. I got my new 1 from Office Max, so you might be able to get more info

by going in and talking to them.

Re: UPGRADE VISTA TO WINDOWS 7

Windwos 7 is the first OS Microsoft will have less problems with Pirated copies.  Why?  BEcuase it is worth the price tag finally.  the ultimate might be on the boarder of two expensive considering the alternatives, but 300 for Ultimate in teh Windows 7 Flavor is still worthy.

Don't worry about compatability, 7 is more compatable then any OS MS has made.  if it isn't compatable enough to launch then the compatability mode works great, yep even for system emchanics software.  So don't stall get yours today!!!  Been using it sence the very first Beta, before the public knew about it, and I have restored 2 times due to nVidia Drivers for Video which weren't native till last summer, and I have only crashed ounce.  Not from normal Use but trying hard to crash it.  I hve 4 GB, and I about gave up.  I said in my mind after about 400 windows of IE Streaming Music and Video, I give up, but it took 400 and a game to do it.  Now really, who's gonna have that much happening at one time.  No one in the real world that is for sure.  This happened when I didnt' have native support on everything last summer just as the RC build was comming out, the end of July 2009!!

It's not just just a computer, it is what YOU want!!!!

Re: UPGRADE VISTA TO WINDOWS 7

I don't think you can load two different BIOS versions at the same time.  (Even if they were compatible.)
