Re: Upgrade Program for Window 7

When I enter my HDX X16 related product number FV724EA#UUZ into the Arvato order form for the upgrade, I get an error message saying the model is not in the database. I also tried FV724EA and FV724EA-UUZ and got  the same error message as before. What can I do?

Re: Upgrade Program for Window 7

I just bought a new Pavilion p6180t from HP online and when I went to use the upgrade program, it came back that my model wasn't eligible. Since I bought it on July 28th, it runs Windows Vista Home Premium and it's a brand new Pavilion series computer, I'm not sure why it isn't eligible. What am I missing?

Kadaj - Shipments from orders on the North America ordering site can only go to U.S. or Canada. What language is your PC's OS?

Re: Upgrade Program for Window 7

I have been having the same problem ordering online. The first time I tried Arvato web sit stated my dx7500 was not eligible. I then contacted hpupgrade@arvato.com.

This was the reply:

Dear ----,

This is in response to your email regarding the Windows 7 Upgrade Program.

We understand the importance in resolving this matter and will be glad to assist you as best as we can.

Regarding your concern, we would like to Thank you for the information provided. I tried to place the order, however the part number was not accepted by the system . So here's what I can do, i will be escalating this concern to the Web Support Department that handles the issue to be taking cared of. And you will be receiving a feedback in five business days.

Thus,  I would I would still advise is you to  try to use the computer you purchased  and  place the order again for the  upgrade kit online. Because by doing so, our auto detect system will be able to detect your Unit automatically .

Should you have further inquiries and to track your order  just feel free to log in
to our website shown below:

Thank you,
Lovie

I have sent six more emails and got nowhere. So this afternoon I called and Gave all my information to a person named Skip and he put me on hold for about five minutes and asked me to call back in 30 minutes because they were updating their system. When i called back I happened to get the same person again and was put on hold again. Skip came back and said they were still updating their system to call back Monday. I even sent emails to the Arvato division heads in DE. I also contact HP corporate HQ which did call me and asked me what was the problem I was having. Since then the Arvato recognized my computer and states it is eligible. When I have entered all my information and try to submit it, the page states Processing please wait. And I get an error on the page

Re: Upgrade Program for Window 7

Kadaj -

The ordering process is designed for U.S. and Canada retailers (you'll see the drop-down list of participating retailers in one of the initial screens).  Your proof of purchase will need to reflect one of these retailers and that could be where you are going to run into a snag.   If you see your retailer's name, you will have cleared that hurdle.

If it is a product sold in North America (NA) and the language = English, you should be able to order from the HP NA Ordering Windows 7 site (in the upgrade process, the language has to match the language of the upgrade discs is the reason for asking the language of your PC's OS).  Last hurdle:  shipping can only be to a U.S. or Canada address.

If these conditions don't work, having purchased outside of U.S./Canada will be the reason you cannot participate in the HP's NA Upgrade Program and you will need to work with the team in the region you purchased from.  Doesn't hurt to give it a try!

Re: Upgrade Program for Window 7

I can't get any help in the Business forums so I'll try here.  I bought a Mini 2140 by phone direct from HP on June 26 and was told at the time of purchase that it was eligible for the free Windows 7 upgrade.  The system was also listed on the eligibility list up until about a week ago, but it has since been removed from the list.  I just finally got around to trying to register for the upgrade and it came back saying that my model number is not eligible.  For validation that this system was on the eligibility list at one time, I did a google search for "HP Mini 2140 Windows 7 Eligible" which gets hits at several sites stating that the Mini 2140 is the only netbook that HP is making eligible for the free upgrade.

I e-mailed Arvato last week and have received no response, and posted in the Business forum with no result.  Does anyone have any advice?
