Re: Upgrade Program for Window 7

robmason2 - as long as your product number is eligible, sounds like your operating system is eligible and may be a missing from Arvato's database.  What is your product number?

Re: Upgrade Program for Window 7

johnp51 - we've been assuming that your issue is similar to what Chucker experienced.   This has been corrected. I have tested it myself. Please try again. IF you are not successful and get the same error, let me know.

Re: Upgrade Program for Window 7

Just thought I'd share this article. It reports that some upgrades to Win 7 can take over 20 hours to complete!

Re: Upgrade Program for Window 7

I have reached the end of my tether, so if there is someone who can help I would appreciate it.

I have gone through the Arvato system and had a status of pending for a while. I changed the proof of purchase from a TIFF file to a JPG file in the hope it would be accepted...it was not, although I must confess the label was scratched badly during delivery. I uploaded the official HP Online Receipt and have now been rejected. Why?

Re: Upgrade Program for Window 7

I ran into the same thing. after many calls and emails (several weeks too) they did get my system in their system.  Now I have submitted my paperwork 2 times and both time they have denied me saying my paperwork in not legiable.

They come up with every excuse under the sun.  I hope you have better luck that I have.

eClaire seems like she really wants to help people...I hope she can step in and get Arvato to fix this mess. Has anyone seen the mysterious auto detect tool?

Re: Upgrade Program for Window 7

[ Edited ]

I have done the same thing.

HP stated that they will give the free Windows 7 upgrade to purchasers of laptops purchased after June 26th 2009.  I waited for that, made sure my laptop was included in the program (HP HDX 16) and purchased from a customer support rep by phone (at HP, not an agent). It took me over a month to submit for the upgrade because their systems did not recognize my laptop model number. After that was straightened out (many phone calls, emails etc...) I was able to submit my information just to get to the page to upload a image of my receipt. I scanned and uploaded my receipt. Many weeks later they came back and said they could not read it. I did it again... very clear... all documents etc... I received another email ... many weeks later stating denied!!! THIS IS CRAP... This has been nothing but a fiasco. I have submitted 2 times on top of waiting for many weeks for you to get your computers working. THIS IS FRAUD! HP has committed a crime and I will take this as far as it has to go to get my upgrade. You must be ashamed and will honor what you said you will do.  I spent very good money on a HP laptop with the understanding that I would receive the upgrade.  <text deleted> I am asking this forum in a very kind and nice way to help this issue since your customer support people wither can't or won't.

Re: Upgrade Program for Window 7

[ Edited ]

Got a new HP PC in August and uploaded the online receipt, invoice and proof of purchase; all of which are clear and legible. Been waiting for about a month to see if the status of my order clears, but then get an email today with this message, "Windows 7 POP Denial With Option to Resubmit". They've rejected my order. WHY? I sent an earlier email and they confirm they received everything and I see the uploads still work and AGAIN, it's still legible. What do I have to do to get it to pass????

I see that other people have the same problem. What do I need to do to get this to be accepted within a reasonable amount of time?

And why is HP using such an inefficient method and obviously substandard company of getting people upgrades?
