Re: Windows 7 and Cyberlink YouCam

I was running a similar Post and thread elsewhere.

The problem is with HP -- THEY ARE NOT SUPPORTING WINDOWS 7 and those of us who bought their product then upgraded to Windows 7 should have been warned by HP that our systems would fizzle out in this manner.

I had YouCam promise that their YouCam3 would solve problem. I bought it.  It didn't work.  Then they advised me to go through a 1 hour process to submit for a refund that would get mailed to me someday.

GARBAGE.  THEY ARE TREATING US LIKE GARBAGE.

HP needs to pull up their panties and deal with the unresolved issues.  I would NEVER purchase another HP product, their support has been terrible.

But, I would like my webcam working again.

HP = Fail

YouCam = Fail

Windows 7 Beta = Fail

Re: Windows 7 and Cyberlink YouCam

I hope this doesn't come across as rude or nasty but Windows 7 RTM has been out less than 2 weeks, and only for developers, so to expect every single driver and application to be updated before the official release date is at best naive.

If by October 23rd you can't get things like YouCam to work then you'll have a point, but I don't think it's quite the time to start throwing your toys out of the pram just yet.

Re: Windows 7 and Cyberlink YouCam

I'd check your dates.  I first posted this 2 months ago when Win 7 became avail.  And, that was after months of developer access to it.

The point is, don't release the product 'til it's ready.  No other Industry would get away with such sloppy actions.  I'd have preferred to have had Vista on the machine, clunky as it was, but everything worked - it is abhorent to release a product that fries parts of your day to day operations (others have had graphics or printer issues).

So, yes, they all get a FAIL.

Re: Windows 7 and Cyberlink YouCam

It's clear as day that most OEM's and other product manufacturers will NOT support an OS that hasnt been officially released to the public yet. No one forced you to install Windows 7. If you go to the HP and Windows 7 website, you'll see that they dont support beta and test versions, and will only release the drivers for Win 7 on or closer to October 22nd. Microsoft themselves make it clear that Win 7 beta\RC\RTM should only be used for testing purposes and not for full daily use.

My point is, dont use a product(in this case, Windows 7) until it's ready. And by ready, I mean officially released to the public. Since you're incapable of realising that, YOU get a big FAIL!
