Re: Windows 7 and HP Solution Center

I have had my Pavilion Entertainment PC for ten months and suddenly it won't let me use the HP Solution Centre after using it since I got the PC. It says I must reload or some such phrase.

What is the reason and what must I do?

Re: Windows 7 and HP Solution Center

If printing works, but scanning doesn't, you can use the Windows Fax and Scan that comes with Windows 7. I gave up after three attempts to fix the HP software, and it works fine, though no native support for straight-to-PDF scanning.

Re: Windows 7 and HP Solution Center

I upgraded Vista to Windows 7. I installed the windows 7 driver to my c6380 printer. It took a couple times of installing and uninstalling to complete without an error. Everything works fine thru my network, EXCEPT the scan with HP Solution Center. It will scan, but WILL NOT save it on my computer. i tried to install the DESTINATION Update, but would not install because I have HP Solution Center 13. Any suggestions?

Re: Windows 7 and HP Solution Center

I'd like to learn more why the patch didn't work for you.

One potential issue is you are receiving the patch from HP Update and something is blocking you from getting the patch.

Please try and download the patch and re-run from hp.com.

Download Patch Directly

Critical Update: Cannot find scanned image or document files after scanning completes.

Additionally, please try this patch to replace a component that is removed with a Vista to Win 7 upgrade

1. Click here to download the software patch. A File Download window opens.

2. Choose one of the following options to download the patch to the computer.

  • If you want to install the patch on the computer immediately, click Run.
  • If you want to install the patch at a later time, click Save, select a destination on the computer for the file to save, and then click Save. When the download is complete, click the downloaded file.

3 Follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.

4 When you are prompted to restart your computer, click Restart to complete the installation.

Please let me know if this works.

Re: Windows 7 and HP Solution Center

Recently switched from Vista to Windows 7 and my HP Solutions Center wouldn't install.  Call 1-866-211-5207.  For a flat charge of $60 (unless your printer is still under warranty...if I remember correctly), Smart Friends (where I was directed by HP) will "take over" your computer and fix the problem.  Now it works just fine!  YEA!!!!

Re: Windows 7 and HP Solution Center

I recently purchased an HP laptop with Windows 7. Now my HP Solution Center gives me the following error:

parsing error in file C:\program files (x86)\HP\Digital Imaging\bin\hpqscloc\1033.xml.

My scanner also no longer works. I initially tried to use the CD to repair the problem and when that didn't work I uninstalled the driver and reinstalled via the CD. However, when I got to the part to connect the printer it would not recognize it when connected (I only connected when told to do so). Therefore, I uninstalled the drivers again and went to HP website to download the driver for Windows 7 64-bit. It still did not fix the problem. I have downloaded 2 patches which also did not work.

I use my scanner all the time and now I am without one -- a little frustrating. I need help fixing this problem and I have searched forums and tried other solutions to no avail. PLEASE help me fix my printer -- I love this printer and do not want to have to replace it.

Sincerely,

Bonnie Yates

Re: Windows 7 and HP Solution Center

Where is the fix for the message that the install is incomplete.  I have had my window 7 laptop and HP B209a-m all-in-one printer for a year and a half and all of a sudden the solution center stopped working.  I get  a message that says the device installation is incomplete.

Re: Windows 7 and HP Solution Center

Let me see if I can help.

When Solution Center returns the message that the installation is incomplete, it is because the printer and the PC are completely connected.

To connect back up

1) try a reboot of your PC, if your PC has not been rebooted recently. Additionally, reboot the printer by pulling the  power cable from the wall outlet and reconnecting it.

- check if it works.

2) check for updates by manually triggering HP Update.  Start>Programs>HP> HP Update

- reboot your PC after an update, just in case the automatic reboot didn't trigger

- check if it works.

there are also some guided instructions that help get the connection back:

I hope this helps.

Re: Windows 7 and HP Solution Center

I have tried all these solutions and none of them worked.  I have rebooted my system several times.  I have turned off the printer and unplugged it.  By the way it is a HP Photosmart All-in-One printer/scanner/copier, Model B209a-m.  It is WiFi connected.  I am able to print to it find from any application, but I can't scan in a document because I can't open the HP Solution Center.  I have uninstalled the printer and reinstalled it and that didn't work either.  So I have no clue how to get it working.  I also checked for updates both before and after I installed and told that my software was up to date.
