The other day I upgraded my PC from Vista (32bit) Home Premium to Windows 7 Home Premium and thought I had completed it without incident. I had some issues installing he driver for my HP Deskjet F4180 printer but after many hours finally got a download to work with HP assistance and can printer. But when I went to the HP Solution Center, I too get the message: "HP Solutions Center can not run because your device installation is not complete. Please plug in the USB Cable or re-run the setup program from the installation CD for a network installation. If this does not complete the installation, or you do not have the CD, access the HP help fiels by clicking the Start Menu."
Well, needless to say I contact HP technical support and spending 45 minutes on the phone the problem is still not resolved. Anyone have a solution, because HP folks don't seem to have any?

If you want to install HP Solution Center for WIndows 7 64bit you can load it with the OfficeJet 7210 All-in-One Software Package.
Under Drivers, choose HP Photosmart and Officejet Full Feature Software and Drivers
During the install process, it will ask if your printer is plugged in, it will give you to continue the install and plug int he printer later. This will load HP Solutions center for any printer, I do not have a 7210 but rather a CM1312nfi and it worked for me.

The whole thing is due to interaction of windows updates and hp autoupdates. I believe the New Printer option will prolly work again, or maybe the root/branch uninstal followed by new user accountinstal then main account install them delete new user. But I should not have to keep doing this sh*t. win7 home prem 64, officejet 6500 wireless all-in-one E709, the errors are the package from http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docnam

the scan works fine with out fixing the solution center, either if i use the driver in devices and printers or if in solution center i tell it to go ahead and scan and not to troubleshoot.
so i have two easy work-arounds and two pita fixes, and an unending stream of solution-destroying updates for both win7 and solution center.

I have been running windows 7 for over a year with my C6380 photosmart and i never had any problem accessing the solution center..i use it to scan documents..
all of a sudden today i get the same error message mentioned above..i dont want to reinstall because it took some time to get out the kinks and hae all my computers working wirelessly..
i just downloaded a file that was supposed to fix the problem of network computers disappearing but that didnt work..
i can work around this by scan to a flash drive but i would prefer a fix..
any suggestions
Thanks

Hi gailgs,
I'm sorry to hear you are receiving the error:
"HP Solutions Center can not run because your device installation is not complete. Please plug in the USB Cable or re-run the setup program from the installation CD for a network installation. If this does not complete the installation, or you do not have the CD, access the HP help fiels by clicking the Start Menu."
What I speculate is something has uninstalled your wirelessly connected c6380.
You can try the following:
1) go to start > hp > Photosmart C6380 > Add a device
2) select add a device
3) follow the install flow
AND
4) make sure you restart your PC and printer after you accept the HP Update Windows 7 Critical Update to enhance reliability of network connection
Please let me know if this helps.
If I have helped you solve your issue please mark it as solved .....

I am experiencing an issue with installing the HP Solution centre on windows 7. I get the same message as indicated on other posts where the install cannot be completed etc. I have plugged the device in to try and add it during the install process but my HP photosmart 3110 does not get detected. On plug in the driver is installed and can be used for printing, I am just not sure of why this is not getting detected when trying to add a device during the HP solution centre install process.
Can anyone suggest a resolve please?
