pavilion dv8000 audio problem

I did the clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium and had the sound problem after install and then went to HP site and downloaded the vista sound drivers after auto detect and have sound.  Now I have no issues. Hope this works out for ya.

Had ot reinstall Windows XP Home after virus took out hard drive.  All other drivers but audio drivers work.  No sound and no light on keyboard, does not come on.  When using recovery software says there is not audio hardware.  System information screen blank when viewing sound hardware.

The problem I am having is that when I get to step 4 (4) Page down to and choose "Sound Video and Game controllers") I cannot page down to anything because the only device listed in High Defintion Audio Device. I have downloaded drivers and tried a few of the different fixes here but can't seem to get it to work. Any suggestions?

I'm having problem with my audio driver for a hp pavilion dv800, I tried what you suggested but is still unable to get the driver loaded. I have 32bit laptop. Am I doing something wrong? Please help. I'm running Windows 7.
