Can't install Photosmart 5510 in Windows 8

Installation Disc will not install into Windows 8 32 bit).  Any mods in works to resolve this issue?

Have you tried connecting the USB cable into the Win 8 PC? It should be automatically detected and installed when you do that.

Thank you for the input.  But alas I didn't try it.  I decided to go back to windows 7 and it installed OK.  Using printer every day and I am quite satisfied with it!

Well, if you every change your mind and install Win 8 again, then best way to use the printer would be to connect it through a USB cable. This will enable basic printing and scanning functionality.

I am having the same issue but my PC is on the other side of a 100' room from the printer, I cannot connect it via USB, is there any other solution?

EDIT: Just use the Add a Device section in Control Panel, it picked up my printer on the network and installed it right away!

EDIT #2: It does not, however, enable the scan to PC feature

Hi!

I have Windows 8, and tried to install the HP Photosmart 5510.

When I try to find devices online, it is not found.

When I connect it via USB, it does not install it (shows a scanner, but with problems, troubleshoot does not work, and when I take the USB off, it deletes the icon of the "scanner" (not eve a printer).

Any help?

I went to the HP site for the (search 5510 printer) and found a driver for WIN8.   I installed it, installed the printer, and it work great on my WIN8 laptop,   http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=311255
