Laserjet 1020

Has anyone gotten the Laserjet 1020 to work with Windows 8? I've installed, uninstalled and reinstalled the printer trying both Win 7 and Vista drivers both in and out of compatibility mode and installing with administrator rights with no success. Then, on some of the installs/reinstalls, Win 8 will recognize that the printer is installed, make it the default, but then a test document will not print and sits in the queue. The message comes up that the document is unable to print and the troubleshooter is no help. Very frustrating to say the least. I've Googled the problem without success. Any help or advice will be appreciated.

I am unable to get my Laserjet 1020 to work with Windows 8.

There is a video on Youtube on how to reload it but it's in Spanish.

Does anyone know how to uninstall and reinstall the correct drivers? I really need to be able to use my printer.

Here are the instructions from the Spanish Video, but I am having great difficulty figuring them out. I thought I did it correctly but I am still unable to get my printer to work. This is so frustration.

TODO:
Remove all folders and files in:
C:\windows\system32\spool\printers\
C:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\
C:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\W32X86\
Install HP 64bits drivers from HP and without compatibilty activated
Connect Printer's USB, and fast print

This is a bug related in Windows XP, i didnt know what's the reason to duplicate on windows 8, then wizard's manager finished install the printer its impossible to print again anything and have to do all steps.

HP Drivers are compatible, but windows 8 reinstalls it again and make a loop for that drivers makes it unrecognized.

Thanks for translating the Spanish. While I haven't tried this method yet, I was able to get my inkjet printer, which is also an HP, up and running under Windows 8 using a wizard that HP posted a few days ago. Here is the link to the wizard.

At first, however, following the instructions given, the printer didn't install. Then I had the idea of first plugging the printer into the computer via the usb port and then restarting the computer. After the computer restarted, I started the wizard and within seconds the printer installed and successfully printed out a test sheet.

I still can't get my HP 1020 to work with Windows 8 and HP tech support is of no help. I am DOOMED!

i can install 1020 on windows 8 for one time

but now i change my windows and dont remembre how do it

just  things i remember its download one small file from hp web site and very fast printer installed

the name of that file be like it:sp****.exe

but now cant find that file

im be crazy

Windows8 had an update recently and now the HP Laserjet 1020 works perfectly.

i solved HP laser jet 1020 installation

when you plog the printer to PC , system add a new device  you should uninstall on device and printer and then

install HP laser jet 1020 driver for win server 2008 64 bit , and enjoyed

I used driver for Microsoft Windows Server 2003 64-Bit Edition and it works!
