Printer installation under Windows 8 Consumer Preview

So I can get a better understanding of your situation could you let me know

1. How are you attempting to install this network or usb.

2. When you look in Devices and Printers does it show your printer there?

3.  FYI you should not use the Windows 7 software to install this printer in Windows 8.

I have tried to installed using the windows 7 driver without success, then I tried using the add a device and printers option of windows through network and usb, windows finds the printer and it adds it to my list of printers but the it does not work tough. So I am confused!! Thanks for the help

I inserted an image so you can see how the printer appears but in the status it says driver error.

   So if you go into your devices and printers and select advance printer setup does it find your printer and if it does and you select your printer and select next what happens?

Ok, I was not doing it through the advance printer setup, I was just trying to add it through the add devices and printers option, Now I just did it with the advance printer setup option  and add the officejet6600 class driver for my officejetj4680c printer, and it works perfect, finally I can print again, thanks a lot for your help, now I have another question, how do I get I driver to be able to use the scanner, because before I used to do it with the HP solution center software. Thank your again.

At this time the only way the scanner will work is if your connected USB, if your network you can only print.  If your usb you will have the scan option from the printer icon in Devices and Printers or you can use Windows Fax and Scan.

J'ai réussi à faire fonctionner tant bien que mal ma photosmart 309g sous windows 8 en utilisant les infos données dans ce fil de discussion mais la solution n'est pas réellement satisfaisante.

JE NE COMPRENDS PAS que HP mette aussi longtemps pour mettre à jour le logiciel dédié alors que de nombreux utilisateurs sont déjà passés à Windows 8.

I am getting bloody mad.  I need help getting these cartridges in.  I lost my last Officejet because of that.  Now I have a 6700 and FOUR that don't want to go in.  I have hit just about all you stuff looking for a demo.
