Hi,

 

That's right because you are using the wrong software. No official Windows 8 compatible for many products from many vendors at this stage.Hope this makes sense.

I worked on this for a couple of days...I couldn't believe that a practically new printer wouldn't work.  I did all the usual stuff...uninstalled the old printer, ran as admin, disconnected the printer prior to installing sw...but what finally did it was that I installed the printer from the Control Panel, then chose to update the software online.  It came back that the driver I had installed was the correct driver (but I had removed it) but when I checked back, the same driver was back in place...I selected it as default, and am now printing fine with it.
