Subject says it all.

For some reason whenever I attach my smartphone to my Thunderbolt Dock 3 my cabled network seems to drop.

Also from time to time if we do not undock the system following the best practices problems appaer. For example the next time we attach the docking station nothing will work besides charging. If we then perform a hard reset of the device everything is ok again.

I have a customer that has been used to working with the old docking stations which rather were plug and play without any additional software to control the docking. So they are rather dissapointed now always having to follow the best practices to prevent problems.

Any idea what might be causing the network cable to interrupt when attaching a smart phone on usb?

Hi LievenMelsens

I dont have experience with the X2 1012 but I do know others were also having issues with ports not working, etc related to the Thunderbolt Dock.

You might want to take a look at it... http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/

HP put out an advisory about it also... http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc

If the bios and Thunderbolt Secure Connect Drivers are not up to date, grab them here...

If the unit is still under warranty, you can contact HP Support directly for help.
