C309a Photosmart

I purchased a HP Photosmart Premium C309a in Feb 2011.  The wireless function would not work so eventually HP replaced the printer in June. The 2nd printer dumped black ink all over my furniture (over $400 damage!), so that printer was replaced in July, but the wireless function was very flakey...it just dropped the network connection despite being less than 3 metres from the router with no walls etc between teh printer and router.  The laptop which sits next to the printer has NEVER dropped a wireless connection to the router.  The only way to resolve was to remove and then reinstall the software. I'm running MS XP on a desktop and MS Windows 7 on a laptop via a wireless router which the HP Printer is also connected to wirelessly.  A few days ago, the printer went off-line and on investigating  I finally got the message that said 'The wireless radio is not functioning. Contact HP.  I did contact HP and they got back to me but after the initial contact, they said the printer is out of warranty and I would have to pay for support.  Not good enough HP.  This is the 3rd failed printer they have sold/given to me in a little over 12 months and yet the refuse to provide further assistance for what is a reasonably common problem with this model printer. This printer has only printed less than 3000 pages and in my opinion is not fit for purpose and should be reolaced.  has anyone else any similar issues with customer service ( I use the word loosely!) from HP?
