Can't access internet - Pavilion dv6 Artist edition; Vista

Hi,
I have a problem with my Pavilion dv6 Artist edition (Windows Vista), specifically with the internet connection. It started about a week ago that, while using Firefox, suddenly it seems as if the internet connection got lost ("Problem loading page, Server not found"). However, the internet symbol was still on and MSN Messenger as well. I tried Internet Explorer, same thing. Safari, same thing. So I turned the wireless adapter off and back on again (that little shortcut button next to the volume control by the keyboard). It was working again. A few minutes later same problem. I made sure it's not the internet itself, it's  working fine with my iPhone and Playstation.
So since then I tried System restore twice, problem still persists. I ran the Kaspersky full scan, nothing found. What shall I do now??

The only software I can remember I installed before it happened was the Octave programming software. (After the performing system restore it's not there anymore obviously).

I also tried plugging in the ethernet cable (is that how you call it?) in the computer - same problem.
