Hi,
Product info: Hp Probook 4530s.
OS: windows 7 professional x64.
Wireless: Atheros AR9285 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter
I cannot turn the wireless(by pressing wireless top-right button, or by pressing windows + X). I updated the windows and the bios. I also used all the drivers from the hp site. No errors are displayed in the Device manager. Please give me a piece of advice. Thank you.

i have the same issue:
Product info: Hp Probook 4330s.
OS: windows 7 professional x64 & Fedora.
Wireless: Atheros AR9285 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter
The problem is that the wifi atheros is correctly configured, but is not possible to activate!
very strange issue, from ipconfig/all i can see that the media is disconnected...
