Compaq Presario GQ57. The Ralink 802.11 b/g/n WiFi Adapter on win 7 very poor

Just purchased a Compaq presario CQ57 and the wifi keeps loosing connection despite all atempts. All other laptops in the house are fine, looking at the forums this looks to be an obvious fault with the wifi adaptor. Is there a fix or should it be returned??

First check to see that you have the latest wireless driver installed:

If that doesn't help, try changing the router's broadcast channel to 1 or 11.

If that doesn't work, I don't have any other suggestions for you to try.

I have the same problem and have sent the machine back for repair but they said they could not replicate the problem. It is definitely a problem wireless card and I am trying to get a refund because of it. I have tried everything even updating the bios to no avail
