Re: ERROR: Unable to start Bluetooth stack service

[ Edited ]

Hi,

1) Disable bluethooth stack service from system configuration. Start< Run<msconfig.exe<Services<check on hide all microsoft services< disable the bluethooth service

Go to Startup tab< disable bluetooth service from startup also< OK restart

OR if still dosent fix

2)  Look for the make and model of your bluetooth adapter if external adapter and Reinstall the wireless drivers.

Reinstalling the drivers will definately fix this.

Re: ERROR: Unable to start Bluetooth stack service

I have the same problem. Can some one point me toward the driver for HP dv6-6140us laptop.

Thanks for your help.

Also on a kind of related issue - I tried to roll back my system using System Restore to see if I could fix the problem. I went through the steps and then when my computer restarted and came back up - it said System Restore could not be completed. Try a different date. So I picked a couple different ones - still said System Restore could not finish and my computer was not changed. Why? Any ideas???

Thanks again.

Re: ERROR: Unable to start Bluetooth stack service

Go to Services (Start, type services, select services. Find bluetooth service and bluetooth support and ensure that both are set to automatic. Close down, restart the computer and all should now be well. This works for Windows 7 Home Premium.

Re: ERROR: Unable to start Bluetooth stack service

HA!!!   I SOLVED IT!!!!     1st, my box:  Elitebook 8740w    i7   8GB  intel centrino ultimate N 6300 AGN   Win7 Pro 64

HP Integrated Module with Bluetooth

Finally!  I get to solve a problem that NOBODY on the entire internet, all 5 million, bazillion of them, could solve!

First, a HUGE problem.  I spent over an hour with a top tier HP tech, someone at the same level as myself,

and at lightning speed (I executed commands faster than he could finish sentences) we went through a

ton of tests and possible fixes to try to get my WiFi card working.  Device manager said it was "working" but

it wasn't.   Did driver uninstall/reinstall to no avail.           Here's the BIG SECRET:   Some days after the tech

call,  I decided to start the PC in "safe mode" and try the driver un/in-stall again for the umpteenth time.

WORKED PERFECTLY!!!    WIN 7 has sooo much security it messed up the driver install, so install in safemode solved THAT problem!    ALL my previous driver installs didn't need safemode, this one did.

Now with the WiFi half of my WiFi/Bluetooth "HP Integrated Module" working, I had to attack the Bluetooth

Stack problem.   Yes, I tried un/in in safemode, no good.   Problem was this, HP's download site wasn't very

clear what drivers I needed to get my BT working.  Since I had "HP Integrated Module with Bluetooth",

I downloaded   "Software Support for HP Integrated Module with Bluetooth Wireless Technology for Microsoft Windows 7 "     sp47022.exe (55 MB)

BUT, and a BIG butt at that, I had no idea I also needed:  "Broadcom 2070 Bluetooth"

When I installed (NOT in safemode)  the "2070" package  (sp50180.exe (59 MB)),  my nasty (!#(!#%(*!#)(

Bluetooth Stack ERROR was GOOOOOOONE!!!!!!!

You don't have to call me god or anything like that, it was an easy fix (5 minutes), AFTER finding out what

the problem was.

This is a bonus post ;-)  actually 2 fixes in one.

Re: ERROR: Unable to start Bluetooth stack service

SIMPLY DO THE FOLLOWING STEPS: DOWNLOAD THE BROADCOM 2070 BLUETOOTH DRIVER FROM THE MANUFACTURES WEBSITE. START THE WIRELESS SERVICES OF UR SYSTEM AND CONNECT UR SYSTEM TO BLUETOOTH DEVICE eg. USING MOBILE SUITE. WHEN UR DEVICE GETS CONNECTED JUST INSTALL THE DOWNLOADED FILE TO PROGRAMS( X86 ) BY FIRST MAKING A NEW FOLDER eg.BROADCOMM IN THE PROGRAMS( X86 ) LET THE INSTALLATION PROCESS CONTINUE UNTILL THE BLUETOOTH IS RECONFIGURED AND THE WINDOW WILL APPEAR TO RESTART THE SYSTEM JUST CLICK YES........ THATS IT............DONE note: U DONT HAVE TO UNINSTALL THE PREVIOUS DRIVER..... IT WORKS 100%............

Re: ERROR: Unable to start Bluetooth stack service

I had this issue appear on my Envy 17-105ea last week forllowing using a registry cleaner not sure why it happened, I have used the registry cleaner on a regular basis since I purchased the notebook in 2011...

Just deleteing and reinastalling the driver did nothing...So,

What I did was turn of bluetooth BTTray in the services menu..

Uninstalled the bluetooth software using the Windows 7 add/remove programs...

Reinstalled the software using the HP recovery manager

Turned the bluetooth BTTRay back on in the services menu..

So far all seems OK...

Thanks for the advice in this post, it was useful
