Hi I hope you are having a great day and sorry to learn that you are having this issue.
Assuming that you are using MS Windows XP or later you can us this TOOL to install the printer.
If this does not work, update the thread with more detail description of the OS Information.
general suggestions when installing peripherals (Printers, Faxes and others)
- Download the latest software from the manufacturers HP page. To do so go here
- Find a known working USB cable.
- I personally diasble all security applications, (Firewall, antivirus, adblockers including Windows firewall) to to make sure that the application or a proccess of the application is not getting block by the security features of security programs that your running in the computer. This is not common to have security appplications blocking processes or full applications but is known to happend.
