HP Pavilion dv5 1020eh wireless problem under Windows7

Hi everyone!

As you can read in the subject I have a serious problem. I can't make my wifi work. I use win7 beta build 7000. I've tried to install the original vista drivers but it didn't work. The system able to see the hardware properly but I can't turn it on. I've downloaded HP wireless assistant, but the buttons are inactive in the software. I've no idea what can be the problem, I assume that this version of win7 doesn't compatible with this hardware. Any ideas?

Thx a lot

Try these 2 links:

Microsoft Technet

Start64.com 64bit Windows 7

You should be able to find something between the 2 of them.

Re: HP Pavilion dv5 1020eh wireless problem under Windows7

I haven't find the solution on these pages, but I've checked the offical HP Pavilion site for updates. The new BIOS just came out (2009-03) and after the install the problem has gone, my WIFI works correctly. And for the further readers: any touch button problem you have, just try install he new BIOS, and hopefully the problem will disappear :smileyhappy:

Take care
