HP Pavillion dv6000 Wireless not working

Hi,I have the same problem!   And nobody says when it happen how many time the laptop lives after that.Because some people told me that if this with wifi card happens to the MOBO after a few months or days the MOBO dies at all.Is this true or I can use my laptop.Or to broke it and throw on the trash???You tell me,please!

Thank you for the tip on reseting the Default when the wireless adapter is not recognized. Tried it and it cleared the problem the first time.

Update: Forgot to mention that for this machine, there is no "off"  in Set Up for the wireless card switch. The guy at my kids' school who told me to turn it off in Set Up was working on Dell laptops, not HP. Hmm...maybe I need to look into a Dell for the next computer.

i try downloading my networkdriver and it was successful but i try installing it there comes the problem

I had the same   problem , after I send my dv6 hp laptop for cleaning,

 not conecting to wifi and some times it comes and go, I found whats wrong, back opening of the laptop, there is a panel that you can open its fixed with screws, you will see hard drive, wifi mark on it, once I remove that I checked with a magnifying glass 2 tiny jcks have come out I just fixed those 2 jacks in place, my wifi is back again, working very well.
