Hp pavilion entertainment PC having internet problems

Hello,

Recently i have been having problems connecting to the internet on my hp pavilion entertainment Pascal of of my other devices connect perfectly fine, but when i try to connect to my laptop it says "UNIDENTIFIED NETWORK" and then it says "PUBLIC ACCESS". But i don't know what this means also i'm running Windows Vista. Can someone please help!
