I have an HP un2400 EV-DO/HSDPA Mobile Broadband Module (aka Gobi chip or UNDP1) installed in my HP 6930p with AT&T as my provider. My coverage is horrible with this set up. The carrier isn’t the issue because the USB version works great as so do my AT&T Blackberry and cell phone. With my old Sierra Wireless Aircard I had WWAN almost everywhere a cell phone could be used. Now I can’t even use it in my house except late at night and forget about trying to connect from a convention center, airport or any metal building. I love the convenience of not having a device hanging out of a USB but it is pointless if it doesn’t work most of the time. Is there any way to add an external antenna or boost the signal?
