Like so many of you, I have a very annoying problem. My Broadcom wireless adapter is not recognized when I turn on my laptop. Sometimes booting into Safe Mode helps, sometimes uninstalling the driver does it. Other times nothing works and I just have to keep restarting the computer until it decides to work.
I have tried countless things after reading the forums. Some ideas do work for a while, but when I turn off the computer at night, the adapter magically disappears again the next morning.
I was happy when I found this:

This page is for the HP Limited Warranty Service Enchancement page says if you experience this problem you are entitled to FREE repair, even the shipping is free! It doesn't even matter if you are outside of the warranty. Great! My warranty ended in the middle of December. So all I have to do is call the number right?
Wrong. For some reason my specific model number : DV2418nr, P/n: KA253UA is not listed.
Who else got left out of this repair? They kept telling me my model number was not affected. Maybe if there are enough of us with this problem they will be forced to admit probably all models are affected.
I have spoken with tech support on the phone and through the chatroom, and neither would give me any contact information so I can request that my model number be added. Maybe someone on these forums knows more about their system and can help me get my model added. If not, I think we should really consider a class action lawsuit like so many have suggested in other threads.
