My Ethernet and network adapter is not working?

I Installed Windows vista home basic and now my internet is not working ? It says that im missing à network adapter and that my Ethernet is not working. Please help!!!!

Hi:

Please click on each one of these devices in the device manager.

Then click on the details tab.

In the Properties drop down list, select the second item (Hardware ID's).

Post the top string of characters you see in the window.

Those will identify the model of the network controllers you have and I will send you the links to the drivers you need.

Please identify your HP notebook with the product name. It can be found by removing the battery and looking for p/n followed by a string of alphanumeric characters. Please post the p/n here so that i can provide you the link to download the drivers for you.

I have the same problem on my Pavilion dv4-3020, it also says that the adapter cannot be found. Attempts to uninstall the device from device manager sometimes results in a Blue Screen. Now, the laptop starts with 'the wireless module is not supported'. HELP!!
