My Presario R3050US causes network to slow down using all types of connection devices.

I have discovered that on my home network my upload  speed will slowdown to double or single digit kbps when I connect to it on my R3050 Compaq Presario. My download speed also slows to unacceptable levels. I can connect Wireless, LAN or using a Sprint card and all the connections have the same effect. As soon as I disable a particular connection then the connection speed returns to normal. I have iosolated the internet modem, Netgear wireless router, and both my desktop and a Dell laptop that I use on the same network. The problem presents itself hard as soon as I connect using any of the devices mentioned on my Presario laptop. Iam not sure when it first happened, because i was chalking up the slow internet to slow servers, but it became noticible in the last two weeks

Have you tried updating the drivers for your network cards?

Have you made sure your system isn't infected with a virus (which is what it sounds like)?
