Hi

You have a couple of options as I see it please try these steps might help you to fix your issue.

1) Disconnect the Battery & Adapter then press & hold the power button on Notebook for 30 seconds then turn on the unit and check if the Wireless light turns on.

2) Go to Device manager then uninstall the wireless drivers and restart the unit and check if the light turns on.

3) Please update the Bios & Wireless driver from HP website.

4) Try doing a system restore to the date where unit was woring fine.

5) If you are comfortable reseating the wireless card which will be on the back panel off your unit you could try this steps as well.

[ Edited ]

hi:

This model series had an epidemic problem with overheating causing various components and motherboard components to fail (graphics, wireless cards and mini-PCI slot the wireless cards plug into).

You can try removing and reseating the wireless card, but more than likely either the card has burned out or the slot it plugs into has burned out.

LInk to the service manual is below.

You can either purchase a USB wireless network adapter or perhaps it is time for a new notebook.

Re: My wireless internet device has totally disappeared from my computer. Where do i get it?

Hi

Please try to install the driver from HP website for Wireless & Bios

Or click Start in search box type Recovery manager the click on it select Yes on User access control then select I need immediate help the select Driver & application recovery select the wireless driver and install it. then restart the unit and have it checked.

Last Steps is to reseat the wireless card on the unit.
