Presario V3000 - Wireless Not connecting

Hello--

Basically my wireless internet is not working....however, if I plug into my router via cable it works-

One day I was online and lost connection, my computer prompted me to repair the connection - I did - then later that day I was disconnected from the internet 3 more times....now I CANNOT connect at all-

When I search for wireless networks and find the network I connect to - I input my network key - the computer shows that it is "trying to connect"..then the screen goes back to wireless networks and asks me to connect again, and the process repeats itself over n over-

Again, the issue pertains to my wireless - FYI - I did a not so smart thing and did a PC recovery - yes I was able to retrieve all of my files upon doing so, but I was hoping to re-install a driver or something if that was the issue-

sounds to me like a problem that is known to hp.   the wireless is bad, needs a motherboard.   mine is 1/2 month out of warranty, and they want me to pay half of what a new laptop would cost to fix it.   they also said i should be understanding of their limitations.    i can't contact coporate, so all i can do is try to inform the public of hp, and hopefully in the future we'll buy from a better company.
