Problems connecting to printer, although printer and computer are both connected to my network.

I will never ever buy another HP product as long as I live.  To spend my money on what seemed a pretty good printer and have all these connection problems is infuriating.  The latest is that after installing a new black cartridge, I still had no black ink printing.   Tried resetting the printer, it is on the network, my computer is on the network, I've entered the correct ip address for the printer, and my computer still can't find the printer.  A couple hours wasted.  This is not the first problem with this printer.  This in addition to the fact that even when it's working, the printer sometimes takes 10 mintues to print a single simple page of text.  HP blows!
