Re: Problems with pavilion tx1000's wireless

First of all, I'm amazed at how transparent the manufacter of this site is :smileyhappy:  I'm surprize they allow bad press about their products.  Well this one won't be deleted....

Although off manufactuer, its the same problem, but with a different manufacturer

As a well versed computer, the exact same problem happened with my Fujitsu-Siemens Pi2515 computer after 11 months and 3 weeks of owning it.  At first, I thought it was either malware or some dodgy Microsoft (TM) Windows(R) update that had gone terriabily wrong.  No, after reinstalling and reinstalling from trusted sources and trying to use the laptop without installing any nice software the same probem occured.

It seems to be that any laptop can be victim, this was a Intel Chipset with an Intel ABG wireless adapter.  The problem totally puzzled me as I didn't think that a faulty card would 'unplug' or disappear from the system.  But it did.

Anyway, Fujitsu-Siemens are now scratching their heads and saying their diagnostic software is always right even though it doesn't actually test the wireless device.

Amazingly my Sharp PC4602 (built in Japan, not China) is still working after 20 years, although the 40 Megabytes hard drive is limiting.

Keywords:  FUJITSU-SIEMENS Pi2515, 3945abg wireless device

Re: Problems with pavilion tx1000's wireless

They are far from transparent...  There were other threads that have been deleted by them.  This is a serious problem and HP is not addressing it as such.  And they do not deal with everyone the same.  Some they have replaced.  Some they have given 50% off the repair.  Some they have done the repair and charged for shipping.  But the vast majority get the old sorry, it's not our fault.  Nobody else seems to have that problem...  ZD has even been deleting the bad press.  Amazon has deleted many bad comments also...  And believe me, I am not a black helicopter person either...

Major Wireless Issue

[ Edited ]

Well, my lappy has gone back to Germany for repair, hopefully they won't look at my WW2 research that I've conducted over the years and that I don't get charged for it....

As for these posts, see how long they stick until deleted.  This wireless issue is enough to baffle most technicians like myself, its a shame their diagnostic software never picked up anything, but then again it never actually tested the wireless device - just everything else.  I could have swore it was software / virus related until I did a cleanroom test with metal shields, clean file server and wireless access point - problem persisted with default settings and factory software.

Fingers crossed they use intelligence and work out the problem and that I don't get charged £100 from Fujitsu.

As the problem isn't isolated to one manufacturer, I have set up my own forum for this issue entirely see http://forum.DaveMatthews.eu, I will never delete the truth.

Re: Problems with pavilion tx1000's wireless

what a shame on HP. Just a couple of hours ago i came across exactly the same problems with you guys. and now, after googling the problem, i am fully hopeless about fixing God **bleep** wireless adapter problem. i am planing to buy an external adapter but in the end the motherboard will die as i see. I don`t know is there any chance to recover our situation. if somebody does please just let me know:smileysad:? Is there any legal way to get our rights back? Please do not hesitate to complain about HP and we can get a recall or something better...

Re: Problems with pavilion tx1000's wireless

I've had my wireless disappeared from device manager after every sleep/hibernate/restart. I followed all solutions I came across in the internet and the "ONLY" one that returns my wireless is the reinstall of the nvidia drivers. But after several reinstalls I can no longer update my nvidia drivers and I got stuck with the VGA non-accelerated mode. Every time I try to install or update the driver I get error that tells nothing.

Well I decided to recover my notebook to manufacturer  state. Now my broadcom wireless works every time after every reboot/hibernate/sleep. I always it doubted it is a hardware problem as why would this thing keeps switching from a working state to non-working state for no apparent mechanical or electrical reason. Also broadcom wireless functionality seems to be restored after certain battern of logical steps of installing and restoring drivers of another hardware in the same computer!

It has to be a software issue, be it from nvidia, broadcom drivers or HP motherboard bios. my two cents.

I have a TX1220us and having the same problem with my wireless disappearing.

I've seen so many solutions but none work for me.

We need to take action if HP is not going to address this situation.

Re: Problems with pavilion tx1000's wireless

[ Edited ]

Add one more to the list....wireless went first and as of this morning the motherboard...gone. Got the same story $300+ to repair.

<text deleted>This the second laptop (Best Buy had to replace the first one) and now this one is dead but Best Buy cannot help wth this one.

Has anyone had any success in getting this issue resolved free of charge? From all the strings I have read I cannot see where anyone has had success in getting this done at the expense of HP. Has any official recall been issued since the last postings? (perhaps I missed something).

Any help would be appreciated...I am ready to toss it into the ocean.

Re: Problems with pavilion tx1000's wireless

I went to the yahoo group and called the number provided which put me into contact with a case manager but I got the run around that my model is not part of a recall. I alread knew that..hence the reason for my call to the case manager. I expressed my shock that HP, particularly in these economically challenging times, was not making any effort to maintain their customers particularly since there are hundreds of customers with the same issue.

A customer who is respected and well taken care of will keep coming back and provide a company with repeat business. Clearly HP does not feel my business is important. Quite disappointing. My last attempt is to write  Mark Hurd (CEO).

Re: Problems with pavilion tx1000's wireless

Hi Everyone,

Add me to the list guys, brought TX1218au in Aug07 In New Delhi India and wifi started dying in Nov 08, so I am out of warranty, the guy on customer support told me that if I need his support I will have to pay about $35 (What a rip off), but after googling the problem I can easily find out that HP is fully incapable of solving this problem. I have also started having restart blank screen problem ( FYI restoring does not help) where the computer stays blank and does not load the operating system and only show blank screen.

Whoever is the the moderator here,  can you please tell us what are we supposed to do?? can we get a recall, After buying this product I can easily compared HP with a street con artist who sell people lemons at high price and walk away without taking any responsiblity.

Now I am just waiting for my motherboard to die so that I can buy a new NON HP laptop.( how frustrating)

I am currently living in Australia and urgently seeking response from HP.
