STUDENT Wireless HELP!

I live on campus in the dorms and i usually don't turn off my HP 2000 laptop. I just shut it when I'm not using it. So, when I opened it today I noticed that the wifi key light was orange but no matter how many times I tried to turn it on..it just stayed orange.

So then I went to try and plug in my ethernet cord. Didn't help. Didn't even light up as it usually does. So I then went and tried to troubleshoot the connection problem, but it came up with "the diagnostics policy service is not running." then when I tried to set up a new connection, it said "Windows did not detect any networking hardware." I Don't know how to enable or turn on the wifi!

I've also tried turning it off and removing the battery. Didn't work. Theres no wifi switch in the back. The only accessible piece is the battery.

I'm SO LOST and frustrated! Im going to need my computer ASAP for school. Someone Please help me!!
