I recently purchased a HP Latop (HP Pavilion dv7-6b50ea). To compliment it, I have recently purchased a HP X7000 Wifi Mouse.

 

The Wifi Adaptor in this Laptop is an Intel Centrino Wireless N 1030.

 

I managed to Pair the mouse with laptop, however the signal frequently drops, and does not automatically re-connect. It also does not automatically re-connect after sleeping, hibernating, or even after a period of approximately 2 minutes inactivity.

 

This is extremely frustrating / exasperating, as the laptop is only a couple of weeks old.

 

I am NOT getting any warnings re: SoftAP, it just appears that the driver does not search for / attempt to connect to the device, and must be manaully apired throughout the day.

 

Any ideas?

This is some real **bleep**. Hp, you are ruining your reputation with this {Content Removed: Language Filter Evasion} problem ! 

You have to solve this quick. Even though I have not and would have never paid 60$ for a mouse, this pisses me off. I run on a sony vaio with windows 7 ultimate and this isnt working. I have spent several hours trying to fix this but nothing worked for me, Still getting the same error : "SoftAP is unavailable".

Help to those with Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN Adaptors

Since I had very similar issues as everyone here, thought I'd post.

 

I needed to do two things:

 

1. update my network adaptor driver

2. get rid of the disc software that came in the package and download the updated one from the HP site.

 

My network card is an Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN and it was at driver 1.2. I updated it to driver 1.5. You can find the link for the current drivers here (http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=21244). Just download the appropriate one of the first two options and just run the program. It will do the rest. Hopefully you can do the same thing with your manufacturer's network card if not the Intel above.

 

After that, download the latest HP mouse and keyboard driver software from this link (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=NO-94098-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&... After that, uninstall the Mouse Suite software you currently have installed by going to your control panel and using Uninstall Program and choosing the HP Mouse Suite program.

 

Now install the one you just downloaded.

 

Reboot your system.

 

Run HP Mouse Suite program and try pairing your mouse now.

The problem is that the updated driver won't install: it gives an error  Internal Error 2809. SetupResume, Back, Next.

 

 

Several peoiple have reported this, not just me.

 

Any suggestions? HP Tech support just say, "well try the mouse on another laptop, and if it works, the mouse is not at fault"  What utter BS - I have a brand new HP Envy 17 laptop......

Also, uninstalling the SW doesn't work - it just hangs forever at 'Gethering information..."

 

Even if you cancel, it just says 'Are you sure?' and still just hangs there.

 

 

 

I got my money back, and they told me to hang on to the mouse and also the replacement mouse they sent me. The tech support is a complete failure - all they ever do is tell you to uninstall, reininstall, check things on anopther computer, then they overnight you a replacement with exactly the same pronblem.. They are great at doing the wrong thing quickly and excellently, and have fooled themselves into thinking that is good customer service..

go to control panel>hardware sound>device manager find "Microsoft Virtual Wi-Fi Miniport adapter and enable it

then retype the start command

I have also the "softAP"-problem with my mouse.

 

After some weeks of working with my ASUS UX31

it was not possible to pair it with my LapTop.

 

Willtry the different instructions for a solution this

weekend - and hope it will run again.

Will not work as advertised and HP customer support is non-existent. I have a Dell XPS 15z with an Intel adapter running windows 7 will ALL the latest updates. Yes it is a windows certified adapter and all the other horse **** they have you check to find out it's not goning to work as advertised. A clean install with the latest HP software and the mouse will hook up when I first start the system, but as soon as it goes to sleep, the mouse will not reconnect unless I shut down and restart from scratch.

 

I bought this mouse at Frys Electronics when they had it on sale for $10.99 and I figured "why not"? When I returned it, the guy showed me at least 20+ units they had returned because they don't work well. Fry's is trying to dump these things because they are crap and most likely will just need to throw them in the trash because the product does not work.

 

Good thing they are nearby as I would have most likely taken the batteries out and used them in something else and tossed this thing in the trash rather than take the time and gas to return it.

 

Everyone should stop trying to figure out the softAP problem and realize this thing is poorly engineered. It won't work until HP gets off it's fat *** and finds a solution that doesn't involve restarting wireless services everytime or rebooting or doing a clean install. I wanted to avoid wasting a usb port for a mouse, but have gone ahead and purchased a Logitech 701 and am COMPLETELY satisfied with it's operation. That is a porduct I can recommend.
