Hello,
I have a HP Pavilion Noteboolk DV9705ea with Microsoft Vista 32-Bit.
I attempted upgrading the notebook to Windows 7 but found certain things did not function correclty like the sound and LAN connection. The drivers are not available from HP for this operating system.
Therefore, I reinstalled Vista. My internet connection is slightly different as I have a fixed IP address assigned to a remote aerial for a connection. This works brilliantly. However, recently I have had problems with my wired connection to the Notebook. When the notebook is powered up after being diconnected from the mains the network connection works perfectly. However, if the Notebook is rebooted then it comes back up with an unrecognized network error. This took me a while to figure out after reinstalling Vista a number of times.
Also I can not get the sound to work again. When I attempt to install the driver it says no regnozied device!! I have attepted installing the newest BIOS firmware and still no joy.
Not sure if anyone has ever heard of this before or can help but any assitance is really really appreciated. Everytime an update or something is installed it means a complete power down, disconnect, wait 5 mins and repower.
Pease help before it becomes an expensive frisbie!!!!!
