Wifi not working in HP Pavilion dv7-1247cl Entertainment Notebook PC [ Edited ]

OS: OEM Windows Vista x64* (not the HP generic ver) Is there any driver for this device? The light is lit up and everything but it does not appear in the the devices entanglement list. The card is properly inserted and the antennae are hooked up in the correct places.

*The client that hired me out to repair her laptop wanted it done as cheap as possible so the factory hard drive was out of the question so I went with a cheaper hard drive and the recovery discs would not work with it.

The card has "Atheros AR5BXB92" written on a sticker as well.

This may not be what you need, especially if that box really has an Atheros card in it.  ??

There are drivers at the website for Vista 64 bit.  I checked the Biz box side, too (another way of looking at the info) - I didn't see an Atheros driver.  We do have a driver guru here (not online right now).  He may see this post and drop in later.  If he knows something, he'll help out.

If I find that Atheros driver, I'll edit / post back later.

Hi:

First install the Wireless Assistant software, and see if the WLAN card shows up.

Then if you have the Atheros card and it does need drivers, below is the link to the lastest ones.
