Re: Wifi turning on and off & treble/bass indicator issues in HP Pavilion dv8t-1000 CTO

I worked with customer support on this problem on my dv8t  last night, and it seems to be cured with the uninstall and re-install of the HP Quick Launch buttons and Bios.

I cannot thank you enough Brian220, I dont have the words to thank you justly,I just completed your foil fix and so far its good.this problem has been so frustrating for so so long thanks to HP's complete lack of consideration to any Hp users.HP will never again see any of my money for any of there products.Just another greedy US company with no thoughts at all of consumer satisfaction.Once again Brian thank you so very much I almost threw it out the window after countless hours with india and bull**bleep** from HP.Brian you give me hope that ( WE THE PEOPLE ) if we come together to help each other , that we can resolve almost any problem this greedy ,corrupt  corporate america and goverment  throws at us.My thanks to all of you that write in to help.

@ Everyone

Here are some youtube videos in this link, some sections are not the greatest, but they get the point across.

Re: Wifi turning on and off & treble/bass indicator issues in HP Pavilion dv8t-1000 CTO

Has your HP dv8t-1100 ever reverted back to this same old problem of WiFi wildly going on.& off with the volume & WiFi display buttons not working properly---or did your fix work permanently???  I purchased my custom built dvt8t-1100 in May of 2010. The hard drive failed the first day but my warranty forced them to build me another. When I got my second laptop from them it has had multiple issues ever since including the WiFi. They even messed up my extended warranty by tying the old computer's product number to my warranty instead of the product number that went to the new computer they replaced it with, but eventually I was able to get that resolved.

The treble bar issue that some have talked about wasn't that big of a deal. I just disabled it and that stopped it, although it is a pain having to disable it everytime I turn my computer on.The hard drive in the second computer they sent went bad almost a year later to the day. When I sent it in I reported the problem with the WIFi and sent your detailed fix but they returned the laptop with a new hard drive and the WIFi problem still existed so obviously they didn't use your info.

Since I needed my computer both for work and for my grandchildren that do online school, I have tried to just work around not always being able to use the internet since I have some other computers in the house I can use. It's just annoying and inconvenient at times not to be able to use my own computer that I paid extra for to have custom built.

Now today a new issue has came. When I try to boot the computer the screen keeps cycling between blank but different colored screens. First white, then red, green, blue, and then 3 or 4 gray screens and then it starts all over but never goes to windows so that I can actually use the computer. Then after its off for awhile it will sometimes work. I did a Hard Drive test but it passed so I don't know what it could be. I could only find one other post so far with that issue and there were no cause or solutions posted.

I will have to send it back to HP but it's like a total waste of time because they don't fix it, and complete inconvenience not to have my computer for my work and for my grandkids schooling. I have read so many posts with people who have the same problem(s). People pay around $2000 (or more) thinking that will allow them to get a better computer that will last longer. Even though they have extended warranties, it's just a sick joke because it really doesn't protect them. I will never do it again. Companies like HP should have to take responsibility but they never do.
