I have just recently purchased a new HP Notebook DV7-7008TX and am setting up software to be installed. However, I am unable to download any files directly from the internet. Even with newly purchased software, after following an activation link, all I receive is the option to save or cancel a Binary File .exe then it completely disappears and no download happens at all.
I have tried searching for security options or download restrictions but am unable to find anything that will assist me to override this Binary File problem and allow me to Open, Save or Run new downloads.
Could this be a problem with my browser or is it a setting/problem on the computer itself? I am using Firefox as the default browser.

This is usually related to firefox only. Try in Internet Explorer and check.
Also make sure all windows updates and HP updates in HP Support Assistant are complete.
Sometimes it may also happen due to anti-virus.
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.
